Cheney and Medicine Crow wed in Alaska

Elizabeth Cheney and Cloud Medicine Crow were married July 18, 2009, on the island of Kake, Alaska.

Cheney is the daughter of Bill and Della Cheney and is a native Alaskan from Kake. She is an attorney working for a native health organization in Anchorage, Alaska.

Medicine Crow is the son of Kathleen Simpson of Dresslerville and the late Cletus Medicine Crow of North Dakota. He attended Carson Valley schools and the Institute of American Indian Arts in Santa Fe. He is a Native American artist of reservation realism in Anchorage.

The wedding was held at the residence of bride's grandparents with Capt. Violet (Susie) Jackson of the Salvation Army Church officiating. The ceremony was attended by the community of Kake and by the groom's mother, brother Lance, cousin Wayne, aunties Marilyn Bitisillie and Teresa Pete.

The bride was attended by matron of honor Gail Cheney and bridesmaids Rose Quilt, Jasmine Andreas and Christine Fryer.

The groom was attended by best man Verrin Kewenvoyouma and groomsmen Lance Medicine Crow, Wayne Roberts and Guthrie Capossela. Other attendants were Jon Warner, Dawn Jackson and Geri Simon.

Other attendants were Rose Tavo, Sandra Jackson, Alison Warden, Serene Quilt, Jeffrey Warner, Destina Warner, Larry Jackson, TJ Jackson, James Michael Jackson, Shawaan Jackson-Gamble, Adam Davis, and Peter Capossela.

The newlyweds have made their home in Anchorage.
