Art association meets

The Carson Valley Art Association meets, 1:30 p.m. today, at the University of Nevada Cooperative Extension conference room, 1329 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville. Gallery reception today

Teen dance tonight

Douglas County Parks & Recreation sponsors a teen dance for students in grades 6-8 at the Douglas County Fairgrounds Building, 6:30- 9 p.m. today. Cost is $10 and includes a pizza slice and drink. Swap meet Saturday

Douglas County Historical Society hosts swap meets at the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center in Gardnerville, 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, and Aug. 8 and Aug. 22 and Sept. 12. Booth spaces $10 in advance, $20 day of sale. Information, www.historicnevada.org or 782-2555.


Family safety fair

Elks breakfast Sunday

Poster contest

Original art on the theme of Carson Valley ranching heritage is needed for the Town of Genoa and the Carson Valley Arts Council's poster contest for the Genoa Cowboy Poetry and Music Festival.

Farmers markets

Weekly Valley farmers markets feature fruits, vegetables, flowers, bakery items, gifts, outdoor decor, music and food.

Donate to rummage sale

St. Gall Catholic Church is accepting donations for their annual rummage sale on Aug. 7 and 8. Drop off items behind the pastoral center, 1343 Centerville Lane, Gardnerville, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday. For large item pickup or information, 782-2852.
