Boys & Girls Club member diagnosed with N1H1 flu

Parents were notified Wednesday afternoon that one of the children attending the Boys & Girls Club at Pau-Wa-Lu Middle School tested positive for the N1H1 influenza and non-contagious viral meningitis.

Signs were put up in the club, which is open today, as soon as officials learned of the incident. While a letter wasn't sent out, some parents received copies of the notice.

Douglas County school officials have been notified and implemented their plan and disinfected all areas of the school used by Boys & Girls Club members.

The club is encouraging any parent whose child has flu like symptoms to seek immediate treatment.
