Please return the cars

EDITOR:

To the man in the fancy car who came to our yard sale at 1404 Honeylocust in Arbor Gardens: shame on you.

You brought up a bag of toy cars that my 12-year-old son was selling to earn money for a bike. He had $5 on the bag, as there were 30 cars in it worth approximately $1 each, and you clenched the price tag so that it appeared to be 50 cents. My daughter and husband thought it was 50 cents by the way you held it, so you cheated a 12-year-old boy out of $4.50. If this was inadvertent, he would appreciate it if you would pay the difference or return the cars. If not, although it appeared to be, then you should be ashamed of yourself.

My son is disabled and was extremely upset that he's only closer to his new bike by 50 cents after working so hard to help us organize the yard sale. Times are tough for everyone, but it is shameful to take advantage of a child - and what does this teach a child about honesty and fairness?
