About 40 people attended a presentation on the airport's compliance with FAA regulations held at the CVIC Hall on Wednesday night. It was the first step in the process of explaining why the county wants voters to alter the airport ordinance to increase the weight to 75,000 pounds. We'll be pursing information on what sounds like a fatal accident down by the river below the bridge about 5:30 p.m. last night. I know they called CareFlight and a coroner. Comments on the story from last night said one person was killed and two injured.

Douglas County commissioners meet 1:30 p.m. today at the Douglas County Transportation Center in Stateline. By far the coolest thing on the agenda is the discussion on realigning Highway 50 around the casino core.

The temperature today will be climbing toward 97 degrees today and Friday. The potential for thunderstorms has been pushed back to Saturday, along with a slight cooldown.
