Douglas County commissioners will have to conduct their June 6 meeting at the Carson Valley Inn, since the Carson Valley Art Association had already booked the CVIC Hall for its annual Carson Valley Days show.

East Fork firefighters responded 10:45 a.m. Wednesday to a shed fire off Hornet in the Gardnerville Ranchos to find the neighbors hosing it down. After finishing up and determining the fire didn’t get into the house, firefighters wrapped up by lunchtime.


Fire fighters responded to four vehicle crashes on Wednesday, including one on Tramway at about 4:10 p.m. where a vehicle went over a retaining wall and landed on its wheels in a lower parking lot.


There was also a crash 4:50 p.m. on Foothill Road south of Mottsville, one at Minden Townhomes and Highway 395 at 5:45 p.m. and another at Highway 395 and Stephanie Way at 8:45 p.m.


Deputies were looking for a person down around Carson Valley Golf Course around 4:45 p.m. after what I think was a crash at the south end of Fairway.


 The forecast calls for mostly sunny skies and a high temperature of 81 degrees. A light 5 mph breeze out of the north is expected to pick up in the afternoon.
