Colleen Vaughn

A Catholic memorial mass will be said 1 p.m. July 22 at St. Francis of Assisi in Incline Village for Gardnerville resident Colleen Vaughn, 71, who died May 30, 2009, at her family home.

Born Feb. 12, 1938, in Glendale, Calif., to Ray and Dorothy Kennedy, she was educated in the Los Angeles Unified School District and graduated from Eagle Rock High School in 1956.

She was a retired account supervisor for the American Federation of Musicians Union.

Mrs. Vaughn and her husband moved to Gardnerville in 2001. She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 4, in Carson City, where she served as president for two years. She was a member of St. Gall Catholic Church and enjoyed golf and needlepoint.

She is survived by her husband Tony of Gardnerville; daughter Patti (Lonnie) Driscoll of Visalia, Calif.; son Mike (Shirley) Howell of Simi Valley, Calif.; sister Pat Flores of Santa Paula, Calif.; five grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one niece and one nephew.

Burial will be in Ventura, Calif.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home.
