Art project to celebrate kindness

EDITOR:

The Partnership of Community Resources and Felix Pottery are kicking off the summer by celebrating kindness through inspiration from the Ben's Bells Project in Tucson, Ariz. To bring a local message home to Carson Valley the partnership, through local focus groups, has chosen to name our art project "Ring in Kindness" to demonstrate and encourage intentional kindness in our community.

The Mission of Ben's Bells Project ..."is to inspire, educate, and motivate each other to realize the impact of intentional kindness and to empower individuals to act according to that awareness, thereby changing our world." We would like to do the same here in Douglas County.

Youth from our Students Taking on Prevention club started their art project today at Felix Pottery and will continue to create the inspirational art throughout this summer. Our first anonymous bell hanging will take place in September.

I'd love to see an article in The Record-Courier to kick off this community wide art project ... we need our whole community to get behind this inspirational project.

Please check out www.bensbells.org for more information on this community project.
