Stateline casinos' down 25 percent

Douglas County's chief source of gaming revenue dropped 25 percent compared to last year according to figures released by the Gaming Control Board today.

The Stateline casinos reported a 25.5 percent decrease in May, the most recent month for which figures are available.

The casinos reported taking in $18.14 million, more than $6 million less than they did during the same month last year.

Casinos in the rest of the county, which are included in Carson City's numbers, didn't fare much better.

The capital and Carson Valley took a 16.25 percent hit, earning $9.45 million for May 2009.

Statewide the Gaming Control Board reported an 8.34 percent decrease.
