Search for child missing at Lake Lahontan scaled back

A scaled down search at Lahontan State Park's Beach 3 is currently underway for a 6-year-old Reno boy missing since Saturday. Park rangers have been handing out magnets bearing a description and other information of the boy to lake visitors.

Apollo Fuller was last seen Saturday afternoon. During the next two days, law enforcement officials from the Lyon County Sheriff's Office and the Washoe County Hasty Team searched both the water and land for the Reno youngster.

The search was scaled back at dusk Sunday night for Fuller, whom searchers feel is presumed drowned.

A state boat began searching along Beach 3 on Monday at dawn and will continue to do so until dusk.

In a statement released by the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, all resources available to the LCSO had been used with negative results.

At the time of his disappearance, Fuller was wearing a blue swimsuit with a white stripe. Fuller is white with blonde hair and green eyes. He also has a small scar on his right cheek.

Anyone with information is to call the LCSO at (775) 577-5023 or Churchill County at 423-3116.
