So how wet was June

Pity June isn't a better moisture producer, because more than twice the average precipitation fell during the month in Minden, according to the National Weather Service.

An inch of rain fell in the Douglas County seat, according to figures released today, but that wasn't the highest amount in the Carson River basin. That honor fell to Poison Flat, which got 2.3 inches of moisture, way more than less than an inch average for the month.

The highest percentage increase went to Markleeville which received 1.56 inches of moisture during the month, nearly three times the .55 inches it averages in June.

Overall, the Carson basin has 84 percent of average so far this year and most of the spots in the high Sierra are between 90 and 99 perent.
