The Elks annual banquet tonight is sold out I'm told. That's a couple of things that people have bought out in a hurry, including the melodrama at the museum and the father daughter dance. That's not the "Wait til the last minute" Carson Valley I know, and that's a good thing.
Sunday is the Super Bowl and the seniors will be celebrating at the Douglas County Senior Center 1 p.m. For an interesting juxtaposition, the organizers for the Miss Douglas County and Miss Carson City pageant are holding an informational meeting at the Round Table up on Topsy Lane at 3 p.m., right about kick-off.
The weather will be the weather for the next week. Sunny, high in the 50s, and no precipitation in sight.
