Today it's all about the health, with the Douglas County Senior Center's 10th annual Senior Health Fair 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. today in the Shannon Ballroom of the Carson Valley Inn. Tonight the Nevada Cooperative Extension is hosting a meeting about radon 7 p.m. at the Sheridan Volunteer Fire Department on Sheridan Lane.
My sources say the recent storms brought the East Fork water shed up to 70 percent of average for this time of year. The long-range weather forecast says there won't be any real precipitation before mid-February. That's a bad combination for summer.
Meanwhile it will be sunny through Super Bowl weekend with highs in the 50s and lows in the 20s and teens.
