The Nevada Highway Patrol is clearing a hit and run accident in the northbound lanes at Highway 395 and Airport Road in Minden, which occurred at 6:43 a.m. There were no ambulances or fire gear at the scene when I passed, so it was apparently not an injury accident.
A man who went on a joyride with three juveniles in a stolen Washoe Tribal van is scheduled to be sentenced this morning in Douglas County District. Robert Antone Jr., 21, admitted being in possession of the van on Nov. 11, when after a chase south on Highway 395, ended up running into a Westwood Park tree.
Expect it to be mostly sunny today with the high temperature hitting 41 degrees. It will warm up into the mid-50s by the end of the week, with nothing but sun through the end of January.
