Sierra Philharmonic League presents a coffee to meet Laura Jackson, the last of five candidates for the position of conductor/music director of the Reno Philharmonic Orchestra, 10 a.m. Feb. 5, at the home of Ray and Brenda Robertson, 3541 Mont Blanc Court, Jacks Valley. Jackson conducts the Reno Philharmonic on Feb. 8 and Feb. 10 at the Pioneer Center for the Performing Arts in Reno. This year's concert season features each of five guest conductors plus a concert in March where the winner will be announced.

Jackson recently completed an appointment as the assistant conductor and American Conducting Fellow of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra and is a finalist in the Berkeley, Calif., Symphony music director search.

Jackson's choice of guest soloist is violinist Stephanie Sant'Ambrogio, who will perform Felix Mendelssohn's "Concerto for Violin, op. 64." The rest of the program includes Zoltan Kolady's "Dances of Galanta" and Tchaikovsky's "Symphony No. 4 in F minor, op. 36."
