Senior Health fair returns Jan. 28

The Douglas County Senior Center's 10th annual health fair is 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Jan. 28 in the Carson Valley Inn's Shannon Ballroom.

The fair provides information to seniors about health care providers and services in the community and the opportunity to address individual concerns with health care professionals.

Businesses and services represented at the health fair have included medical professionals, residential care, Medicare counseling, service organizations, insurance and investment firms, recreation and nutrition.

Health care providers will be hand with information about hearing aids, Alzheimer's care and diabetes. The health nurse will give blood pressure checks from 9 a.m. to noon.

A fashion show at 1 p.m. features clothing from Especially for You and Sidestreet Boutique and children's fashions from Baby Willow's.

There will be a raffle for prizes throughout the day, with prizes provided by Senior Health Fair participants.

Free DART shuttle bus is offered during the health fair, providing service between the senior center and Carson Valley Inn. Information at the senior center, 783-6455.
