Jump rope for fun and fitness offered

Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department offers the Jump Rope for Fun, Fitness or Competition class, Wednesdays beginning Jan. 14 through March 4 at Meneley Elementary School, 1446 Muir Drive in the Gardnerville Ranchos. Classes are 4:15-5 p.m. for age 8-12 and 5-5:45 p.m. for age 12 to adult.

Students learn partner and group skills in routines to music to improve coordination and cardio-respiratory fitness. Skills may be used in a March 7 competition.

Cost is $50. Register at parks & recreation, 1327 Waterloo Lane, Gardnerville. Information, 782-9828.
