ALPINE COUNTY, Calif.

The 10th annual Snowshoe Thompson Cross Country Ski Snowshoe tour is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 7 at the Hope Valley yurt at the intersection of highways 88 and 89.

A 10k ski tour from Burnside Trail to Secret Meadow is led by Nina MacLeod. The event also features a 5k snowshoe tour in Picket Junction Meadow and on Burnside Trail, a longboard demonstration, discussion with historian Frank Tortorich, fiddle music by Vicki Hass and refreshments Hope Valley Cafe and Market. Cost $10 adults, children are free.
