Two men who were allegedly altering checks they received while posing as students collecting donations for youth sports in Douglas County are in custody in Carson City. Williams Knight, 22, and Cody Knight, 20, allegedly committed similar acts in Washoe County, Reno, and Carson City. The Sheriff's Office is asking anyone who may have been a victim to contact Investigator Jeff Schemenauer at 782-9907.
National Weather Service forecasters are sticking to their story that it's going to snow today, but I'm not so sure. Our newly repaired radar is showing the storm breaking up on the mountains and regrouping north and east of here. There's a big old blob around Chico and Oroville, but again, it's on a course to miss us to the north. The forecast is for a 90 percent chance of snow in the Valley with a potential accumulation of 1-3 inches.
Today is not only Friday the 13th, but it is also the 13th edition of The R-C for the year, so have a little mercy. I'm not quite sure what that will add up to, but I'm a tad superstitious.
