The R-C Morning Report

New Year's Eve revelers will take to the streets at Stateline tonight, and may even take over the street in the casino core. There is no organizer for the annual bash, it just happens. The forecast for New Year's Eve at Stateline is for scattered snow showers after 10 p.m. with the wind blowing 10-15 mph and gusts of up to 25 mph.

Douglas County Sheriff's Sgt. Jim Halsey said we should look for the information on overnight arrests first thing New Year's Day. I'll get the results of the evening's festivities online as soon as I get them.

In honor of the holiday, The Record-Courier will be closing at 2 p.m. We're putting the Friday and Sunday issues to bed today, so if something needs to get in, get it to us. In a related note, The Morning Report will go dark next week while I'm on vacation. It will be back again when I get back to work on Jan. 11.

The weather today includes a slight chance of snow showers before 10 a.m. and the a slight chance of rain showers between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. The snow level's going up to 6,100 feet. Expect cloudy skies with a high of 42 degrees. Tonight we'll see some wind and some isolated showers.
