A Christmas dance will be held at Raycraft's hall, Genoa on December 23rd, the proceeds of which will go to the fund of the Genoa Union Church and will be used to complete the building. The new church at Genoa, which is to take the place of the one destroyed by fire a few years ago, has been built by popular subscription. It has been a year since a big dance was held at Genoa and from the fact that the people of that town always turn out to dances held on this side of the Valley, the people hereabouts should indulge in a little resoprocity and should make an extra effort to attend the Christmas dance at Genoa.

The absence of coyotes from Eastern Nye county is a subject of comment among trappers who say they never knew so few in the district. They ascribe the depletion to the absence of herds which have been off the ranges for almost three years thus depriving the coyote of his feast of calves and maimed animals left on the outskirts of the big herds. Foxes are numerous and easy to catch. Where one was caught in former years a dozen are trapped now. The sudden reduction in prices since the slump in Wall street brought the price of a grey fox down from $10 to $3.50.

Photo caption: The long period of stormless fall weather has allowed uninterrupted progress since October on the new George Whittell high school at Zephyr Cove. This picture, take last week just before the first snow storm of the season, showed the school about 20- percent complete. The structure will be almost an exact duplicate of the new high school in Gardnerville. The sight is one of the most beautiful ever made available for a public school. The 28 acres donated by George Whittell for the school is one half mile directly east of U.S. Highway 50.
