The 2009 version of the Carson Valley Kiwanis Club's Christmas ornaments of the historical building series are available for sale at $6. This year's brass ornament features the Minden Courthouse and the old Douglas County High School, which now houses the Carson Valley Museum & Cultural Center.
The historical building series began in 2000. Ornaments from some previous years are available for $3. Call Sondra Condron at 781-4778 to purchase ornaments. Ornament sales and money raised at Kiwanis fundraisers benefit local youth projects and scholarships.
