Local artists show their stuff in Montana

Paintings by Teri Sweeney of Gardnerville and Margo Petterson of Coleville have been selected to be auctioned in the 42nd annual C. M. Russell Auction on March 17-20 in Great Falls, Mont.

The paintings to be auctioned are Sweeney's watercolor of cattle in Hope Valley in autumn and Petterson's oils of a draft horse from the Redd Barney ranch in Reno and a cowgirl herding horses through the Carson River.

Both artists have participated in shows throughout the West, with upcoming spring shows at the Cattlemen's Art Show and Sale in Paso Robles, Calif., the National Western Art Exhibition and Sale in San Dimas, Calif., and the C. M. Russell Art Show.

Sweeney is the former owner of Artistic Viewpoints Gallery and teaches watercolor classes from her studio and at workshops. Petterson's work can be found in galleries throughout the United States.
