Crystal Angels event benefits area children

Staff Reports

The Crystal Angels philanthropic organization hosts the Christmas Tree Fantasy luncheon Dec. 10 in the ballroom of Antoci's Restaurant in Genoa Lakes. Proceeds from the luncheon will be used to buy Christmas presents for children in need.

Cocktails at noon with lunch at 1 p.m. Tickets are $30 and may be purchased at 783-3517.

The luncheon features a raffle of decorated Christmas trees decorated by volunteers. The grand tree, decorated in silver and white, is more than 9 feet tall. Some trees have gifts hidden among the decorations. Other donated items will also be raffled.

A lunchtime fashion show features holiday and resort wear assembled by Karen Holmes, owner of It's All About Me designer boutique.

Crystal Angels supported 58 children in Carson Valley during the holidays last year and hope to top that number this year. The Crystal Angels supports Project Santa Claus, Austin's House and Abbey's Crossing.

"Our goal is to create a wonderful and joyous holiday season for all the children whose families are going through hard times. Hopefully this festive event will do just that," said member Pam Whitgob.
