Cohee moves to No. 2 nationally

Douglas High junior Troy Cohee, younger brother of the University of Utah's All-American skier Nick Cohee, is following in his brother's footsteps as he moved to the No. 2 national ranking in giant slalom among athletes his age this past week.

He posted two strong results at the Cardrona and Treble Cone resorts in New Zealand. Previously ranked just outside the top 50, Cohee blitzed the giant slalom courses at both resorts this past week.

He was the top American J2 on the first day, second on the final event.

He also moves into the top 100 world ranking for the first time, now No. 76 for 16 year olds.

Cohee skis for the Sugar Bowl Ski Team and is coached by one of the nation's premier coaches, Austrian Guenther Birgmann, who also coached Nick Cohee from 2002-2008.

He returns from New Zealand this week and will be attending the Douglas High soccer tryouts.
