Two bands play in concert in Minden Park on Friday

The GE Energy Family Concert Series continues with two bands in Minden Park on Friday - the Savannah Blue Southern Rock Revue and opening band 2AM.

New Zealand county band 2AM plays at 6 p.m. with Savannah Blue performing from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The six-piece Northern California band Savannah Blue pays tribute to the music of Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Allman Brothers, the Outlaws, Marshall Tucker Band, Molly Hatchet and 38 Special.

The 2AM band recently won a contest to sing at the Country Music Fest in Nashville.

Bring a low-backed chair or blanket and relax under the stars at Minden Park. Food will be available to purchase by the Lion's Club.

Savannah Blue is sponsored by GE Energy and Carson Valley Inn and co-sponsored by Dr. James the Dentist.

The free concert series is sponsored by GE Energy, Carson Valley Inn, Town of Minden, Tahoe Creamery, Edgewood Tahoe Golf Course, Dr. James the Dentist, Nevada Johns, Stor-All, Park Place AM/PM, Carson Valley Medical Center, J.D. Sullivan Law Office and the Carson Valley Arts Council.

The next concert in the park is Santana tribute band Caravanserai on Aug. 28.
