Free health fair at Douglas High

A free health fair will be 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday inside the Douglas High School gym and commons area.

In the gym, nurses from the school district and county will be giving free immunization shots for all children up to age 18.

In the commons area, there will be a variety of businesses and organizations from the health industry.

A doctor from Shriners Hospital will be offering free orthopedic screenings, and a Carson City dentist will be offering free teeth screenings and fluoride varnishes. A Minden optometrist will also be performing free eye exams.

Information about the Nevada Masonic Child ID program will be available, as well as drug awareness information from the Partnership of Community Resources. There will also be an information booth on eating disorders.

Kids will be able to enjoy clowns, balloon animals and games while participating in the health fair.

The event is sponsored by the Nevada Immunization Coalition and Walmart.
