Softball: Lady Tigers strengthen grip on first place

The Douglas High softball team extended its win streak to eight with a 12-0 at Damonte Ranch Thursday afternoon.


The Lady Tigers scored in all but one of the five innings and pounded out 17 total hits to shut down the Mustangs and improve to 8-1 in Sierra League play.


Stephanie Harper pitched a three-hitter with three strikeouts and three walks to pick up the win.


Emily Weaver went 3-for-4 with three runs scored and Maddy Gilbert went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and a double. Katrina Morgan tripled and drove in three runs, Harper and Morgan Blomstrom each had two RBIs and Mackenzie Cauley drove in a run.


All three of Damonte's hits went for singles.
