The R-C Morning Report

There's lots of stuff going on this weekend, including the Sustainable Living Roundup at Lampe Park on Saturday and Sunday, an Ayn Rand play at the CVIC Hall, and the Douglas Animal Welfare Group's fourth annual "It's a DAWG's Day" festival at the Fairgrounds on Saturday. Consult The R-C calendar either in the paper, or online in the e-edition for more information.

We had a pileup on Thursday night at Highway 88 and Mottsville Lane that had one person taken for treatment at the medical center. The accident happened at about 5:30 p.m. When medics arrived, everyone was out of their vehicles and walking around.

This weekend it will be hot, with highs in the 90s, but it may be the last really warm weekend for a while. Starting Monday, the highs drop into the 80s and look like they're going to stay there for a bit. It will be sunny today with a high near 88 degrees. Wind will be calm for most of the day and then get up to about 5 mph.
