Cross Country: Douglas runners strong at home meet

Douglas senior Taylor Biaggi took first place in the senior class while Amanda Boyd wasn't far behind with a fourth-place finish for the Tiger cross country team last week at Lampe Park.


Biaggi finished the 4K course in a time of 15:52 while Boyd came in in 16:26.


The meet attracted 18 teams and 355 runners. All freshmen ran in one race, then all sophomores and so on.


Douglas freshman Sadie Gastelum took fourth in her class with a 16:55.


Shannon Sturgess was 23rd in the sophomore class with a 20:25 and Kylen Flannagan took 24th in the freshman race with a time of 20:36 for the girls.


On the boys' side, Scott Lococo took 15th among the junior boys with a 14:13, Corey Trujillo was 11th among the senior boys with a 14:44.


Freshman Tanner DeGiovanni took fifth in his class with a 15:38, Jeremy Tigh was 32nd in the juniors with a 16:30.


Nickoli Kallman was 49th among junior boys with a 17:32, Kory Koskin was 41st in the sophomore race with a 17:33.


Mark Pieters was 45th for the junior boys with an 18:20 and Josh Tigh was 49th in the juniors race with a 19:20.
