Volleyball: Douglas wins league title

The Douglas High School volleyball team clinched the Sierra League title Thursday night with a 25-17, 25-23, 25-23 win over Bishop Manogue in Reno.

Taryn Williams had 11 kills and two aces, Emily Garcia had a breakout match with 15 blocks and Megan Mitchell dished out 24 assists to go with 11 blocks and five aces in the win.

Jourdan Burke had nine kills, three blocks, three digs and an ace, Jessica Waggoner had four kills, 10 blocks, two aces and a dig and Mysta Townsell had 11 digs to lead the defense.

Shannon Dugan had three kills, four blocks and two aces in the match as well.
