The R-C Morning Report

A woman who told people she had cancer, was the victim of a violent sexual assault and had a daughter she surrendered to City of Refuge will appear in Douglas County District Court this morning to be arraigned on charges she lied about all those things. Erika Williams, 33, faces four counts of theft and one count of obtaining money under false pretenses in Judge Dave Gamble's courtroom this morning.

California and federal wildlife officials are holding an open house meeting tonight to discuss a plan to kill off non-native fish in Silver King Creek so they can re-introduce the Paiute cutthroat trout. We last heard from the proposal in 2005, when a federal judge granted an injunction. The meeting is 4-7 p.m. at Turtle Rock Park.

The snow graphic is showing up on the National Weather Service's Web site for the first time since March. Forecasters are saying there's a slight chance that the disturbance rolling in this weekend will turn to snow Friday night and Saturday. It's too early to tell what it will actually do, but you can bet this is the last day where the high will hit 80 for a bit. Today through Thursday is supposed to be sunny and clear, but cooling. There's a slight chance of rain on Friday, and frankly an even slighter chance that rain will turn to snow Friday night.
