A single vehicle accident about 10:30 p.m. Wednesday took out several power
poles off Highway 395 near Stodick Parkway south of Gardnerville, knocking
out power to a widespread area, according to police scanner reports.
Traffic on Highway 395 was stopped due to power lines on the road.
Officials at the scene reported a truck on its side. The driver was out of
the vehicle and did not appear to have sustained injury.
A main power pole was hanging by wires and two other power poles were
damaged, according to reports.
