Cattlewomen host March 29 dinner dance in Minden

The Western Nevada Cattlewomen 2008 Scholarship Dinner Dance is 6 p.m. March 29 at the CVIC Hall in Minden.

Event features beef dinner with all the fixings, no-host bar, a silent and live auction, raffle prizes and dancing.

Tickets are $17 for adults, $7 for children age 4-12, and children 3 and under are free. Tickets, information, Rika McKinney, 265-2271.

Doors will open at 6 p.m. and the dance should be underway around 8 p.m. The dinner and dance is open to everyone and is Western Nevada Cattlewomen's largest scholarship fundraiser of the year.

Some of this year's auction items include: A private barbecue in Hope Valley hosted by the cattlewomen, a one-day guided ride and fly fishing trip for two at Little Antelope Pack Station, and a VIP table for 2009 including eight tickets, private table in front, and tableside dinner and drink service and much, much more.

Western Nevada Cattlewomen membership is open to anyone interested in promoting the cattle industry through educational and promotional activities.

The Western Nevada Cattlewomen activities include Farm City Days in Reno and Carson City, Costco demonstrations and hosting an annual dinner, dance and auction to raise funds for our annual scholarships.

Our scholarships are available to graduating high school seniors from Alpine and Mono counties of California and Washoe, Storey, Lyon and Douglas counties and Carson City of Northern Nevada who are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture.
