Douglas student seeks sponsorship


Carson Valley resident Brittany Spohn, 15, is seeking sponsorships to participate in the National American Miss state pageant June 13-15 in Las Vegas.

Spohn is a sophomore at Douglas High School and enjoys swimming, photography, walking and biking. She will be competing in the junior teen group of 13-15 years in the National American Miss pageant and will be judged on formal wear, personal introduction, interview, community involvement, on being photogenic and a promising model.

Sponsors are needed to pay for the $440 entry fee which is tax-deductible as an advertising expense for business owners. Sponsors will be featured in the state program book. For information on becoming a sponsor for Brittany Spohn, call 265-6735.


The National American Miss pageant program is based on inner beauty, poise and presentation. Emphasis is placed on the importance of gaining self-confidence and achieving personal goals.
