The Carson City mayor's stepson faces up to four years in prison this morning for ramming a Washoe Tribal Police cruiser during a pursuit that ended in Indian Hills last year. Robert Hernandez is scheduled to appear in Douglas County District Judge Michael Gibbons' courtroom. Hernandez pleaded guilty to trying to elude a police officer in connection with the March 12, 2007, incident.
The woman who is accused of causing the July 14, 2007, accident that killed the Calevro family of Torrance, Calif., will be in district court this morning seeking funds for an expert. The case of Dawn Miley, 43, will only be in district court long enough for Judge Michael Gibbons to decide whether to provide funding for an as yet undisclosed expert.
It will be sunny and nice today, with the winds picking up just a little as the day wears on. But don't get too used to those light breezes. Tuesday winds will pick up with gusts of up to 30 mph as a little front rolls in and brings cooler temperatures and a chance of thunderstorms.
