Several Douglas County cadets are set to graduate Aug. 1 from the Peace Officers' Standards & Training academy at Western Nevada College.
A ceremony is set for 4 p.m. in the old assembly chambers of the Nevada capitol in Carson City.
Students hail from throughout the region, and many have already been selected for jobs at agencies in western Nevada, including the Carson City Sheriff's Office, Douglas County Sheriff's Office, Lyon County Sheriff's Office, and Washoe Tribal Police Department.
Douglas County graduates include Matthew Duffie, David Glover, Randolph Overton and Shane Twichell of Gardnerville; Jon Gunter of Indian Hills and Danny Brewer and Zachary Hickman of Minden.
