At the Lake: Man allegedly becomes destructive after relatives won't give him a ride

The following report is from the El Dorado County Sheriff's Office:

A man was arrested around 3:45 p.m. Jan. 8 at a home in the Black Bart area on suspicion of vandalism and defacing property.

The man's cousin told deputies that the man had too much to drink at dinner and demanded a ride from family members to the casinos or Heavenly Mountain Resort.

The family refused, so the man went outside and allegedly started kicking the front door. The man came back inside and started arguing with his family, so his cousin locked him out. The man began kicking the door again, almost kicking it in, according to the report.

The man then allegedly punched a hole in the window, kicked a hole in the plastic siding of a hot tub and broke a plastic yard chair. The man's cousin estimated the damage at more than $500.

The deputy took the man to the county jail, where he was booked.
