Prosecution completes opening argument in Bodden case

Douglas County District Attorney Mark Jackson completed his opening argument in the Bodden murder case being tried in Minden at about 10 a.m. today.

Jackson's argument lasted a little under an hour. Defense attorney James Wilson's opening argument is scheduled to begin in a few minutes.

A juror was excused for a family emergency this morning and a hearing was held to consider whether to allow DNA evidence in the case.

Johnson Lane resident Karen Bodden is accused of killing husband aircraft mechanic Robin Bodden in August 2006.

She has been in jail awaiting trial since Sept. 11, 2006.
