Julie M. Blumenthal

1951-2008

No services have been announced for Julie M. Blumenthal, 56, who died Jan. 1, 2008 at her Gardnerville home.

She was resident of Gardnerville for 25 years and was born Oct. 2, 1951 in Washington state to William McGuire and Marie L. Poole McGuire. She was married to Robert Blumenthal and she worked as at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center as a registered nurse. She loved her family and her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband Robert Blumenthal of Gardnerville; her mother Marie McGuire of Gardnerville; he son William Blumenthal of Gardnerville; her daughter Jennifer Schroeder of Fernley and four grandchildren.

Arrangements are in the care of FitzHenry's Carson Valley Funeral Home in Gardnerville. Cremation will take place at FitzHenry's Crematory in Carson City.

Kenneth E. Juttner

1936-2008

No services are planned for Kenneth E. Juttner, 61, who died Jan. 7, 2008 at Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center in Carson City. He was a resident of Gardnerville for 40 years.

Mr. Juttner was born Sept. 23, 1936 in Oklahoma. He served four years in the U.S. Navy and was a member of the American Legion and the Elks Lodge. He will be missed.

Arrangements are in the care of Autumn Funeral Homes and Cremation in Carson City.

Harry Martin

Smith-Riippi

1984-2007

Memorial services are 11 a.m. today at Carson Valley Christian Center with a viewing at noon and celebration of life to follow at 1 p.m. for Harry Martin Smith-Riippi, 23, who died Dec. 28, 2007, in Couer d' Alene, Idaho. He had been a resident of Idaho for the last three years.

Mr. Smith-Riippi was born June 28, 1984, in Carson City where he lived until moving to Idaho in January 2005. He worked as a satellite installer and then was in the construction industry. He started out skateboarding, then skiing and snowboarding but his favorite thing was riding his Honda motorcycle. He also loved playing pool and golfing with his many friends.

He was a loving father, son, uncle, brother and a true friend to all who knew him. He had the best sense of humor and could make anybody, in any situation, laugh. His laugh, his warm smile, and his great big hugs, will never be forgotten.

Mr. Smith-Riippi preceded in death by both his grandfathers, George Smith and Robert Parson and grandmother Pearl McMinn. He is survived by his son Kaden Martin Smith of Couer d'Alene, Idaho; his parents Ronald and Patricia Riippi of Minden; his sisters Corinna Jill of Seattle, Wash., and Veronica M. Jackson and her husband Donald P. Jackson of Carson City; nephews Chance Jackson, Donny Jackson Jr. and Leelynd Jackson of Carson City. He is also survived by his grandmothers Susan Ward and Lin Riippi and grandfather Ronald Riippi Sr.; his best friend Bill Bradley in Sandpoint, Idaho, and his father Richard Smith.
