Democrats hold county convention today

Douglas County Democrats gather this morning at Carson Valley Middle School for the county convention. The doors open at 8 a.m. and the convention starts at 10 a.m. Delegates selected at the caucus meetings will gather and once more align for their candidates. Also several alternate positions to the state convention may open up for those who caucused on Jan. 19. About three dozen people registered for the convention on Friday night. Those eligible to be alternates are drawn from the list of registrants, starting from the top of the list. After the alignments, conventioneers will select delegates to the state convention, elect the central committee and prepare a summary of the platform draft for the conventioneers' consideration.
