Man surrenders after hourlong standoff

An hour-long standoff in Minden has ended with the arrest of a man who was inside a home at 983 Bella Monte Drive at 2:36 p.m.

East Fork paramedics were allowed into the scene after the man surrendered to deputies.

The man reportedly threatened suicide and had access to a firearm inside the home.

No shots were fired and there is no indication that anyone was injured in the standoff that began at about 1:29 p.m.

A 39-year-old armed Minden man reportedly threatening suicide is locked in a Bella Monte Drive home.

Douglas County deputies have the home surrounded and are trying to coax the man out of the home.

Homes on either side of 983 Bella Monte Drive have been cleared. East Fork Paramedics are staging to provide treatment for the man should he surrender.

The deputies received the first report at 1:29 p.m.
