Volunteers needed to get presents ready for Angel Tree recipients

Staff Reports

Volunteers age 10 and older are needed to help get the Angel Tree presents ready to give to Douglas County families for Project Santa Claus, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, at the Douglas County Fairgrounds building.

People are needed to sort, count and wrap presents that were donated by the community at Angel Trees locations in churches, businesses, clubs and organizations.

Project Santa Claus helps provide Christmas gifts to Douglas County children who are qualified through Douglas County Social Services, Washoe Tribal Social Services, Family Support Council, CASA and the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.

The fairgrounds building will be equipped with heaters and hot cider. Join your neighbors to help make Christmas a little brighter for families in need.

Any contributions are tax deductible, as Project Santa is an IRS 501 (c)(3) organization, I. D. No. 88-0258742. Cash donations are used to purchase gifts or books for children in your name. For questions, call Marilyn Malkmus at 782-4931.
