Kids Club program begins Aug. 20

Douglas County Parks & Recreation Department offers the before- and after-school Kid's Club program at all Douglas County elementary schools.

After-school programs provide a needed service for working parents while providing their children a safe and secure environment before and after school.

Kid's Club offers children the opportunity to socialize with friends and enjoy leisure activities in a safe and secure environment. The goal of staff is to ensure each child is provided with a positive experience. Daily activities include homework assistance, art and crafts projects, board games, active group games, outdoor play and a daily snack.

Parents are required to complete a registration form at time of registration that will include emergency information, a discipline policy and a list of who may pick up their children. Parents and authorized individuals are required to escort their child into Kid's Club every morning to sign them in and out in the afternoons to ensure the safety of the children.

Kid's Club is operated from 7-8:45 a.m. and 3-6 p.m. Monday through Friday. Cost is $2.50 per day for the morning program and $5 per day for the afternoon program. Fees are payable per month according to the number of days of school each month. Spaces are limited and pre-registration is required.
