Third generation Carson Valley native Ted Thran is Douglas County's new clerk-treasurer.
Thran was approved to replace retiring Clerk-Treasurer Barbara Griffin by Douglas County commissioners, 4-1.
Thran is a 1981 graduate of Douglas High School and a graduate of the University of Nevada, Reno.
He has worked in the clerk's office for 10 years.
