Thran best for clerk

EDITOR:

This letter is in support of Ted Thran who is running for election as our Douglas County clerk-treasurer.

Ted was born and raised in Carson Valley, graduated from Douglas High School and the University of Nevada, Reno, with a degree in accounting. Ted earned his CPA, which gives him valuable knowledge in finance, auditing and tax issues. He has served Douglas County for the last 11 years and 20 months ago was recommended by Barbara Griffin, the retiring clerk-treasurer, and approved by the Douglas County commissioners, to fill her position.

During this time he has gained experience in dealing with taxes, has worked on every election and is very knowledgeable regarding election laws, and is involved in all areas and duties connected with the office of clerk-treasurer.

Ted has a personal dedication to Carson Valley, as he has lived here his entire life and knows the issues and challenges that face Douglas County. His strong community spirit has been shown by his involvement in community activities, many with the youth of Douglas County. In closing, we would like you to know that besides having the knowledge, education and experience to do the job, he is also honest, sincere, hard-working and a dedicated public servant. We strongly urge you to cast your vote for Ted because of his proven ability to serve as our clerk-treasurer.

His record has shown that he is the best candidate for the job.
