Fire call appears to be false alarm

A 5:49 p.m. fire call in eastern Carson Valley has turned out to be a dust devil, according to the Sierra Front Interagency Dispatch. Fire units from Johnson Lane, Genoa and Indian Hills were dispatched to the report of black smoke that has not been determined to be a false alarm.

A rain storm that started in the Sierra is traveling up the eastern Valley and the Pine Nuts. No lightning has been observed accompanying the storm.
