Volleyball: Tiger spikers sweep South Tahoe

The Douglas volleyball team ran its record to 29-4 overall and 11-1 in Sierra League play as the Tigers topped South Tahoe 25-13, 25-14, 25-21 at the Lake Thursday night.


Melissa Brown led the way with eight kills, 10 blocks and 5 digs while Megan Mitchell had 29 assists, two kills, three aces, eight blocks and four digs.


Taryn Williams led the attack with 16 kills, while Jourdan Burke added seven, Christine DuPuis finished with three, Bridget Maestretti and Alyssa Todd each had two and Allie Hughes had one.


Burke also had four blocks, Maestretti and Todd each had three and Hughes had two.


Mary Lombino led the defense with 11 digs to go with three assists and two aces and Mysta Townsell came up with seven digs, three aces and six service points.


Jordan Marsh served up 11 points and two aces while coming up with six digs defensively.
