Settelmeyer named officer in Nevada Federation of Republican Women

Sierra Nevada Republican Women President Sherese Settelmeyer has been named first vice president for program of the Nevada Federation of Republican Women

Settelmeyer won the honor 73-6 at the biennial convention held at the Sparks Nugget. She helped plan the event.

Settelmeyer recently accepted the diamond award from the National Federation of Republican Women on behalf of the Sierra Nevada club.

She attended the 34th biennial convention of the federation in Washington D.C. on Sept. 27-30.

The Sierra Nevada Republican Women was one of only three clubs in Northern Nevada to earn the award. The club was also Nevada's first-place recipient of the Caring for America Award which is awarded for excellence in community outreach programs. The club was recognized for its various fundraisers held in 2006 and 2007 in support of the Nevada Patriot Fund which was established by former Nevada Gov. Kenny Guinn in 2003. The fund provides financial support to families of Nevada's fallen military men and women. The group's Caring for America Chairwoman is Sally Wiley a member of the Blue Star Mothers.
