Sagehens thank donors

Editor:

The Topaz Sagehens would like to thank all the merchants and our generous community for the donations of raffle prizes, help and support for the two big fundraisers, the fall boutique and the spring rummage sale. The money raised from these two annual events goes back to our community.

Once again the Topaz Sagehens are getting ready to send out the yearly donations to local community and civic organizations, which were decided on at the November club meeting.

The following is a list of those that we will be donating to: Sheriff's K-9 program, Douglas County Animal Shelter, DAWG, Holbrook Sheriff Sub-Station, Secret Witness, Topaz Lake/TRE Volunteer Fire Department, Project Santa Claus, Barton Hospice, Alzheimer's Organization, Douglas County Senior Center, TRIAD, Family Support Council/Abbey House, Meals on Wheels, Veteran's Guest House, Children's Shrine Hospitals (Kerak Shrine, Reno), Carson Valley Community Food Closet, 4-H Camp, Austin's House, three Douglas High School scholarships and two vocational trade school scholarships.

The Topaz Sagehens is also gearing up for their annual Children's Christmas Party which will be Saturday, Dec. 8 at the Topaz Ranch Estates Community Park Building at the end of Carter Way in TRE. Santa will be on hand for pictures and to pass out gifts to all the children as well as games, prizes, a hot dog lunch and plenty of holiday fun.

Also, the annual Topaz Sagehen's Christmas luncheon meeting will be Dec. 19 at Barone & Reed in Minden this year. Anyone wishing to be a member of this wonderful organization should contact Topaz Sagehens President Janice Roberts, 266-1076 or Micky Joye, 266-1025.
